Civil Litigation

Civil litigation refers to the process of resolving legal disputes between individuals, organizations, or entities through the court system. Unlike criminal cases, civil litigation does not involve the government prosecuting a defendant for a crime, but rather involves private parties seeking to enforce or protect their rights. Civil litigation can cover a wide range of legal issues, including contract disputes, personal injury claims, property disputes, and employment law matters, among others. The process typically involves filing a complaint or lawsuit, conducting discovery, and eventually proceeding to trial or settling the dispute through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution methods.
